SHIPPING LEADER My Therese Blank has left her position as Head of Oceania Market at Maersk Line, sending shockwaves through the local industry.
With news filtering out in the last 24 hours or so reasons for Ms Blank’s departure remain unclear; DCN does not have current personal contact details available.
In a statement, Summer Shi, senior press officer Maersk Asia Pacific, said she could confirm that My Therese Blank has moved on from her role at Maersk as of 30 March.
“We are grateful for the energy and dedication My brought during her time with us and wish her all the best for the future,” the company said.
“The Oceania leadership team is continuing to support day-to-day priorities, and a future appointment to the role of Head of Oceania Market will be made in due time.”
Ms Blank has also stepped down as chair of Shipping Australia, with deputy Phillip Holmes taking up the position.
According to her LinkedIn profile, Ms Blank was with A.P. Moller-Maersk for almost 19 years, working in Europe, Scandinavia, Asia, New Zealand and Australia.
She is widely regarded as an articulate and passionate advocate for the shipping industry and won the prestigious Women in Shipping & Maritime Logistics section in the 2024 DCN awards, presented in Melbourne last November.
