WISETECH Academy, online training arm of WiseTech Global, has opened access to its CargoWise certification courses to the public, intending to enable job seekers to attain in-demand skills to help them find employment in the logistics industry.
The Sydney-based software company, which is a global player in software solutions for the logistics industry, has also now made the courses free of charge.
Dr Tudor Maxwell, who leads WiseTech Academy said that WiseTech is committed to attracting more people to the logistics industry and supporting digital transformation through ongoing skills development.
“Previously, CargoWise certification training was only available to employees of CargoWise customers. By opening the training to the general public, we’re helping job seekers attain this highly sought after certification to make them more marketable to logistics employers” Dr Maxwell said.
“CargoWise logistics software is used by many of the world’s largest global service providers across 181 countries, so being CargoWise Certified means potential employees would be ready to hit the ground running in a new job in many organizations.
“International trade is one of the pillars of our modern world, and the logistics sector supports that pillar by moving goods from one place to another. This is what makes a career in supply chain logistics such a good choice.”
WiseTech says the fully online and self-paced format of the CargoWise certification allows students to start and finish at any time throughout the year.
Certifications are attained in sequence, starting with the CargoWise Certified Operator, progressing to the CargoWise Certified Specialist, and reaching the highest level of accreditation as a CargoWise Certified Professional.
WiseTech reports to have 17000 logistics companies worldwide as customers, across 181 countries, including 45 of the top 50 global third-party logistics providers, and the top 25 largest global freight forwarders worldwide. The company says more than 37000 people have a current CargoWise certification.
