A TOTAL of $31,000 raised from the 2018 Shipping Industry Charity Golf Day was recently presented to the Westmead Children’s Hospital Cancer Research Fund.
This followed a successful day on the greens at Mona Vale Golf Club late last year.
Accepting the money for the hospital, senior paediatric oncologist Dr Geoff McCowage offered “a big thanks” to all major sponsors.
“The cancer research unit is very grateful and many thanks to sponsors and the committee for the continuing ongoing support,” Dr McCowage said.
The golf day has contributed funds to the hospital for the last 27 years, in particular for the oncology unit, the overall amount donated now totalling about $665,000.
The 2018 major sponsors were: Adaptalift Hyster, DP World Australia, Daily Cargo News, Norton White, NSW Ports, Patrick Container Ports, Royal Wolf and Svitzer Australia (breakfast sponsor).
The 2018 hole sponsors were: AAT, Containerliners, Cummins South Pacific, Globelink International, Hamburg Süd, Integra, JPC Reefer, MGL Logistics, Newcastle Stevedores, Qube Logistics, Seaway Agencies, Triton International Aust.
This year’s event is set for 22 October, again at Mona Vale Golf Club.
