THROUGHPUT figures at Pilbara ports dropped slightly last month.
Pilbara Ports Authority said it handled a total of 67.2 million tonnes in December 2022, a 2% decrease compared with December 2021.
Port of Port Hedland achieved a monthly throughput of 50.1 million tonnes. Of this figure, iron ore exports accounted for 49.3 million tonnes.
PPA said this was a 3% decrease in total throughput compared with December 2021.
Total imports through Port of Port Hedland reached 164,000 tonnes, a 22% decrease compared with December 2021.
The Port of Dampier delivered a total throughput of 16 million tonnes, a 1% increase from December 2021.
Imports through the Port of Dampier totalled 88,000 tonnes, an increase of 28% from December 2021.
