THE PORT Authority of New South Wales (PANSW) has announced John Mckenna as its acting CEO.
Mr Mckenna has been the chief customer and commercial officer with PANSW since 2020, during which time the port authority said he significantly influenced the development, growth, and strategic direction of its commercial and customer divisions.
“John brings excellent commercial experience, a comprehensive knowledge of Port Authority and outstanding leadership capability to the role,” PANSW said.
John’s appointment follows outgoing CEO Philip Holliday, who PANSW acknowledged for his dedication to the maritime industry and having successfully led the port authority over the past 5 years.
In a post on LinkedIn, Mr Holliday acknowledged his time at the port authority, “Together we have achieved so much & I could not be prouder of the loyal, capable, professional and dedicated individuals that have formed into the cohesive, expert & leading team serving the best interests of our State, our communities & our customers”.
“As I approach my final day I have taken the time to visit as many of my team as I could and I have been extremely humbled by all the kindness, best wishes and supportive comments from so many people that have gone out of their way to acknowledge my efforts.
“As CEO I have always done what I believe to be the right thing, for the right reasons & the recognition I have received is truly humbling.”
Mr Holliday spent 13 years as a member of the port authority’s executive team.
