SOFTWARE provider Prompt Global has launched a New Zealand customs clearance platform for freight forwarders, 3PLs and customs brokers.

The US-based company, though what it calls a “direct connection to New Zealand customs authorities”, said logistics services providers could anticipate automated customs clearance with reduced errors and lower costs.

Prompt Global plans to launch the platform in Australia in the fourth quarter of 2024.

It has already been rolled out in several countries in South America and Central America, with the US and UK to follow toward the end of the year.

The product is designed to integrate with existing systems, to increase productivity and transparency without changing current tech stacks.

“Our approach has always been platform agnostic,” Prompt CEO and founder Robert Petti said.

“Our solution integrates with any freight management system, enabling integrated customs clearance for New Zealand.”

Prompt said the addition of customs clearance functionality for NZ is the continuation of a customs compliance strategy on a global scale.

“The benefits of automated customs clearance empowered by connectivity with FMS platforms are multiple, including reduced costs, lead times, and errors for forwarders,” Mr Petti said.

“They don’t stop there, however, with the forwarders’ customers seeing greater transparency, more timely updates, and overall improved experience.”

Prompt will introduce the NZ customs functionality to forwarders and 3PLs over the coming two weeks as Mr Petti attends the Customs Brokers and Freight Forwarders Federation of New Zealand conference from 18-20 September.
