TOTAL container throughput at Fremantle increased in May, compared with the previous month, according to the latest available trade data from Fremantle Ports.
In May the port handled a total of 65,417 TEU.
This was an increase of 3% on April 2023’s container throughput.
This increase was driven by month-on-month increases in both exports and imports, which increased by 2% to 33,468 TEU and 3% to 31,949 TEU, respectively.
But Fremantle’s total throughput saw a decrease when compared with the same month last year.
Total container trade through the port decreased by 3% on May 2022’s total throughput of 67,496 TEU.
Both exports and imports decreased year-on-year, by 5% and 10%, respectively.
