DP WORLD has inaugurated 51 new freight forwarding offices in the Asia Pacific region.

The expanded network, announced Monday 22 July, focuses on air and ocean freight and aims to streamline supply chains.

DP World said the new offices deliver logistics services including order and origin management, port handling and freight management for ocean and air, as well as at-destination services such as customs clearance and bonded warehousing services.

This is in addition to the 20 ports and terminals DP World operates in the region.

The expanded network also offers embedded trade finance, commodity-specific services, cars in containers and transload and advanced hubs.

DP World said the Asia Pacific is the largest and fastest-growing region in the world for outsourced logistics.

The region is projected to account for 40% of global revenues for contract logistics services by 2027, the company said. This year, it is also the fastest-growing region in the world in terms of both exports and imports – at more than 5% growth each.

“Global trade is in the midst of an unprecedented era of flux in the face of growing geopolitical and economic uncertainty,” DP World CEO and managing director Asia Pacific Glen Hilton said.

“We have an opportunity to help businesses navigate increasingly complex supply chains, as they seek enhanced market access and streamlined but resilient logistics from factory floor to customer door,” he said.

“With our expanded regional freight forwarding network backed by decades of experience in managing ports and terminals, our customers can count on us to support them in achieving their growth ambitions.”

DP World noted the services offered through the new string of offices can be accessed through a single digital window that is backed by an integrated Global Services Centre that centralises back-end processes and is manned by more than 500 IT specialists.

This digital system aims to help users track goods in real time and manage their cargo journey.
