PORT Authority of NSW and NSW Maritime are calling for more applicants to join the new Port of Eden Stakeholder Group.
The port consultative group was set up to help shape Eden’s maritime future, especially as the local cruise industry grows.
The stakeholder group, open to community members, aims to take a multi-agency approach to address and consult on key port priorities including the Snug Cove Maritime Precinct and cruise tourism.
It will enable local residents, business owners and industry stakeholders to receive feedback on projects and policies impacting Eden and the surrounding South Coast region.
The group replaces the Eden Community Consultative Committee.
“This important new group reflects the success of the previous Community Consultative Committee and demonstrates the NSW state government’s commitment to give residents, businesses and stakeholders a meaningful role in shaping the future of their regions,” NSW Maritime executive director Mark Hutchings said.
“A key focus for this group will be providing feedback on the opportunity to align the development of the cruise precinct with the Snug Cove Maritime Precinct works to benefit the entire region.”
PANSW general manager of cruise Martin Bidgood said the Eden stakeholder group would keep community at the heart of cruise and maritime developments.
“Eden locals have a vested interest in shaping the future of the cruise and maritime industry in the region,” he said.
“We encourage anyone interested in getting involved in the future of port activities in Eden to apply.”
More information about the Eden Stakeholder Group is available on the PANSW website.
Applications close at COB on Friday 28 February 2025.
The new committee members will be announced next month.
