UNVEILING the realities of the supply chain will be the aim of a Port of Fremantle Supply Chain Awareness Workshop on 23 July.
Organised by Container Transport Alliance Australia (CTAA), the session which will run from 8.30am to 4.30pm is designed to enhance participants’ knowledge and understanding of how the container logistics chain really works in practice.
Registrations are open now for the workshop which will be in the Palms Room, Trade Winds Hotel, 1 Sewell St, East Fremantle.
The workshop will be followed by a unique tour of Fremantle’s port logistics facilities.
The workshop will ask questions like who are the major stakeholders and how do they interact and, importantly, how do I fit into the chain, what is driving operational behaviours in the chain and how does the flow of information affect the physical movement of containers?
It will also look at what optimal import and export supply chains look like, and what happens in practice, how will we meet the challenges of an efficient and productive supply chain as container volumes grow and how do you minimise delays and avoid added costs?
It will also consider the future for road and rail interfaces with container stevedores, empty container parks, landside transport operators and customers in WA.
Targeted at both entry level and more seasoned participants in industry and government the workshop includes: Professional delivery on key concepts and the practical realities of container logistics, a workshop booklet for reference, coffee/tea on arrival, morning tea and a light lunch.
The port-related facilities tour will give an up close and personal experience of container logistics operations, including an empty container park, transport operations, and a container terminal at Fremantle.
Tickets are $380 for members and $440 general rate including GST per participant. Members of Freight & Trade Alliance (FTA) are eligible for the CTAA member rate. For ticket information, visit IWannaTicket :: Port of Fremantle Supply Chain Awareness Workshop – 23 July 2024
