MISSION to Seafarers Sydney has teamed up with Engage Marine to offer a Father’s Day tugboat adventure.
The mission’s 2023 Father’s Day raffle will give two people the chance to join an Engage crew as they escort a cruise ship through Sydney Heads.
The raffle will raise funds for seafarers, including the dads at sea who won’t see their families on Father’s Day.
“All funds raised by the raffle will go towards the Mission to Seafarers Father’s Day Appeal to provide wellbeing services to seafarers visiting Sydney,” the mission said.
“Our mission’s visitors come from over 70 nations and are mainly dads doing this tough and often lonely job for the sake of their families.”
The three-hour experience begins at White Bay, where two people (maximum) will meet the tug crew.
The tug will travel under the Sydney Harbour Bridge to the cruise ship at the Overseas Passenger Terminal, then escort the ship out through the rugged heads.
The two participants must be above the age of 12 and physically fit. MtS Sydney noted the gift voucher can be used by any two people the winner chooses – being/taking a father is not essential.
MtS Sydney will draw the raffle on 31 August, in time for the winner to receive/gift the voucher for Father’s Day on 3 September.
The winner will receive the voucher by email and be announced via MtS Sydney’s social media accounts and website.
