WALLENIUS Wilhelmsen has appointed Pia Synnerman as its new chief customer officer.

Ms Synnerman joined the company in 2021 as head of sales to EMEA. She will step into her new role at on 1 January 2023.

Wallenius Wilhelmsen president and CEO Lasse Kristoffersen said Ms Synnerman has a strong track record of driving customer value and building leading commercial teams in a global environment.

“I am proud to welcome her into our group executive management and confident that she is the right person for this role,” Mr Kristoffersen said.

“Synnerman brings new perspectives to the organisation. She will continue the transformation job that we have already started.

“Her commercial capabilities are well proven. She also brings a strong commitment to compliance and sustainability, all critical success factors for us.”

Ms Synnerman said she believes the industry is in the midst of “very interesting times”.

“There are great opportunities ahead of us to drive the changes that are much needed, especially regarding sustainability,” she said.

“The dialogue changes and we are regarded more as a partner to our customers. This requires change on our side – to be the best partner and adviser. I am looking forward to that journey.”

Ms Synnerman previously woked at telecommunications company Ericsson for almost three decades, where she held various sales and commercial roles.

Wallenius Wilhelmsen said she has nearly 20 years of experience from international sales in Sweden, Russia and South Africa.
