NEW ZEALAND transport and logistics group Move Logistics has appointed a new independent director.
Julia Raue, who stepped into the role on 3 May, will also be a member of the Move board’s governance and remuneration committee.
As part of the board’s long-term planning, director Danny Chan is retiring by rotation at Move’s 2023 annual meeting and is not seeking re-election.
Move said Ms Raue’s background is in business transformation and digital change.
She served as chief information officer at Air New Zealand for nine years and has previously been a director of Kiwi companies Z Energy and TVNZ.
“Julia’s proven expertise and experience in delivering innovative digital solutions will benefit Move as we continue to progress our digital journey,” Move chair Lorraine Witten said.
“She is passionate about the customer and people, which underpin our culture at Move.
“Julia’s appointment supports our commitment to a board with diverse thinking and experiences and we believe she will be a great contributor.”
Ms Raue said the company’s priorities and culture align with her skills and experience.
“I am delighted to be joining the team at this pivotal point in Move’s journey as it strengthens and grows its business,” she said.
Ms Raue will hold office until Move’s 2023 annual meeting, where she is to offer herself for election by shareholders.
Move Logistics bought a general cargo ship last year to launch a new trans-Tasman service, which includes a direct call to Tasmania.
