THE AUSTRALIAN government has appointed new leaders for the Australian Rail Track Corporation and Inland Rail.
Nick Miller now has the top job at Inland Rail.
According to a statement from the Australian government, the new CEO is a respected leader within the Australian and New Zealand infrastructure and construction industry.
Mr Miller brings a mix of governance, executive management, industry capability and construction experience to the role as the former managing director and CEO of Adbri and managing director of Fulton Hogan.
And Wayne Johnson has been appointed CEO and managing director of ARTC. He will lead the operation of the corporation’s rail network.
Mr Johnson brings experienced gained from a mix of governance, business operations and management experience as the former interim CEO of ARTC and former group executive of ARTC’s Hunter Valley Network.
The government said the appointments address recommendations of Dr Kerry Schott’s report, The Delivery of Inland Rail: an Independent Review.
Minister for infrastructure and transport Catherine King said she was confident the leadership appointments would enhance capability and efficiency right across the board.
“Mr Johnson and Mr Miller’s expertise will be invaluable in guiding ARTC and IRPL through the coming years,” she said.
Finance minister Katy Gallagher said: “The appointments of a new ARTC CEO and managing director and Inland Rail CEO brings us a wealth of experience and leadership that will help guide the future development of ARTC’s rail network and the delivery of the Inland Rail project”.
