KIMBERLEY Ports Authority has appointed Luke Westlake as chief executive officer.
Mr Westlake joined Kimberley Ports Authority in December 2017, initially as operations manager, before stepping into the role of chief operating officer.
He has served as acting CEO since May 2022, when former CEO Craig Faulkner resigned.
The port authority said Mr Westlake was selected above other candidates for the position and his appointment has been approved by the Western Australian minister for ports.
“Luke’s experience in stevedore operations and ports management since 1999 has provided him the requisite skills for the position,” KPA chair Reece Waldock said.
“Luke is a good communicator and has already established strong relationships with employees, stakeholders and customers.
“He takes on the challenge of managing Port of Broome and the regulatory responsibilities of the Ports of Wyndham, Derby and Yampi Sound.”
The Kimberley Ports Authority board said it looks forward to a “long and productive” relationship with Mr Westlake at the helm.
