DAILY Cargo News was named Media Company of the Year at the Maritime SheEO Awards 2023.
The awards concluded the annual Maritime SheEO Conference in Mumbai on 21 November. The event focused on diversity in the maritime industry.
DCN publisher Lindsay Reed said DCN was honoured to have received the award for its commitment to diversity.
“Since our relaunch in 2018, DCN has been committed to highlighting the need for diversity and inclusion throughout the maritime industry – through our regular Women in Maritime editorial column to the introduction of both the Women in Maritime Logistics and the Diversity & Inclusion awards at our own annual awards night – the latter of which has enabled us to shine a light on inclusivity across the board – from gender, to First Nations peoples and those with all abilities.
“Thank you for this recognition which will help us to further champion diversity in maritime, and to Jillian Carson-Jackson, who works with us on our Women in Maritime column every month, for accepting this prestigious award on our behalf.”
The Media Company of the Year Award – one of 10 awards presented on the night – was selected by the jury and was not open for nominations.
“This award is given to a publication company that reports news free of bias,” Maritime SheEO wrote on its website.
