THE ROYAL New Zealand Navy has launched its fleet of Tasmanian produced Sentinel 1250 Littoral Manoeuvre Craft.
The vessels were designed and manufactured by Tasmanian powerhouse Sentinel Boats.
Tasmanian minister for advanced manufacturing and defence industries Madeleine Ogilvie said Sentinel Boats represents the best of what Tasmania has to offer.
“The Littoral Manoeuvre Craft delivered to the Royal New Zealand Navy have been met with stellar reviews and are recognised as a real asset to their defence capabilities,” Ms Ogilvie said.
“Sentinel Boats are undertaking important work that is further entrenching Tasmania as the place for domestic and international players to seek out world-class defence assets and partnerships.
Two of the three boats have been delivered, with the third prior to its delivery.
