GENERAL cargo ship Sea Xpress on Saturday (7 January) listed during cargo operations, spilling containers overboard at Mundra Port in India, according to media reports.
About 20 containers and several trucks loaded with stone were lost overboard.
According to reports, the vessel listed hard to port, spilling the cargo. It then listed to the opposite side and came to rest against the berth with a list of about 70 degrees to starboard.
According to Marine Traffic, the vessel arrived at Mundra after a four-day voyage from Jebel Ali, UAE.
Sea Xpress was built in 1999 and is flagged in Panama. Its cargo capacity is 1754 DWT tonnes. It is 143.11 metres long (LOA) and it is 22.8 metres wide.
According to AIS data, the vessel is still alongside at Mundra Port as of Tuesday afternoon (AEDT).
