AUSTRALIAN freight and logistics operator Wiseway has leased a Boeing 737-800 freighter aircraft.
The agreement with aircraft-leasing company GA Telesis will provide Wiseway with access to the aeroplane starting by the end of this month until August 2030.
An ASX announcement from Wiseway said the exact leasing fee was confidential but would remain less than $300,000 per month.
Wiseway interim executive chair and managing director Florence Tong said the leasing deal was a “significant milestone” in the company’s growth and marks the completion of its current global expansion strategy started in 2019.
“Using our own aircraft will deliver greater efficiencies across our network of 11 key logistics hubs in five countries,” she said.
“It will also offer our customers enhanced services, including more capacity and greater speed and agility to meet their evolving international cargo requirements.”
Ms Tong said negotiations are underway with “a number of experienced aviation professionals” to manage the use of the new air freighter.
