THE AUSTRALIAN Cruise Association is sending a 10-person delegation to Miami Florida to Seatrade Cruise Global next week.
The group will be led by ACA chair Philip Holliday and ACA CEO Jill Abel. The rest of the delegation will include representatives from state and regional ports, shipping agents, tourism organisations and others.
Ms Abel said the delegation is looking forward to having a face-to-face presence again at the event for the first time since 2019.
“This visit will give us the opportunity to discuss a positive return to cruise for Australia in 2022/2023 and plan for growth in the coming years,” Ms Abel said.
“Pre-pandemic, cruise delivered nearly $5 billion to the Australian economy annually through direct and indirect contributions and supported around 18,000 jobs so this is a really important opportunity for us to show the internationally based cruise lines that we are ready to welcome them back.”
Ms Abel said attending the event will give the delegation the opportunity to meet key decision-makers in the international cruise industry.
