A SINGLE tide at the Port of Port Hedland saw 10 vessels carrying a total of 1.8m tonnes of bulk cargo depart in convoy on 15 January 2019 crushing the previous record by 165,680 tonnes.
Port Hedland harbour master Myron Fernandes congratulated all involved saying a number of factors contributed to the success.

Though the record-breaking tonnage convoy was one impressive feat, Mr Fernandes said, “the port also works closely with its port users and service providers to ensure the port is able to safely export more product, more efficiently.”
