PORTS Victoria welcomed Jacinta Mackey as interim chief executive officer this week.
Ms Mackey’s appointment was announced to industry leaders on day two of the Ports Australia Business and Operations Conference.
She succeeds former CEO Brendan Webb, who announced his resignation in August to take up the role of CEO at North Queensland Bulk Ports.
In an opening address to BizOps conference delegates, Ms Mackey said Ports Victoria, now two years old, is an innovation in the ports system of the state.
“We have been assigned as one of the lead agencies for implementing the Victorian government’s framework for the future of the state’s port system: the Victorian Commercial Port Strategy,” she said.
“The work we do enables the ports to provide an efficient and capable service that can cater for Victoria’s rapidly expanding trading requirements.”
Ms Mackey has been serving as chief financial officer and head of corporate services at the organisation. Her interim CEO appointment came into effect at 0001 on 14 September.
