PILBARA Ports Authority handled a monthly throughput of 57.3m tonnes for the month of October 2018. This was similar to PPA’s throughput for October last year.
However, throughput saw a slight decrease at Port Headland. PPA reported a throughput of 40.8m tonnes for October (40.1m tonnes of which was iron ore). The port’s throughput is a 2% decrease on the same month last year.
Imports through Port Headland increased by 40% on last year, with 163,000 tonnes crossing the wharf this past October.
Turning toward Port Dampier, we see its October throughput in line with the same month last year at 15.4m tonnes.
Imports through Dampier decreased by 23% from October 2017 to 88,000 tonnes last month.
