ROUGHLY the same number of containers crossed the wharves at Fremantle last month as in June 2020, according to the latest trade statistics from Fremantle Ports.
The port handled a total of 63,440 TEU last month, which was an increase of just less than 1% on June 2020.
Containerised imports rose 2.6% to 34,192 TEU in June 2021. Imports of empty containers fell 10.8% to 1094 TEU, and full imports rose 3.1% to 33,098 TEU.
Turning now to exports, Fremantle’s fresh air exports decreased by 2% in June (compared with the same month last year), with 9868 TEU of empty containers shipped from the port.
Full exports were down just 0.3% to 19,380 TEU for the month.
