PORT of Portland has announced the appointment of Andrew Hays as its new harbour master and marine manager.
Mr Hays joins the Port of Portland team following eight years’ experience in port operations, as a deputy harbour master in three Australian ports.
These included in Melbourne as marine manager planning and projects with the Victorian Ports Corporation, as deputy harbour master at Port Hedland with the Pilbara Ports Authority, and assistant harbour master and previously control tower officer at the Port of Darwin.
Prior to these roles Andrew Hays served in the Royal Australian Navy as a seaman officer predominantly in submarines.
In a statement published online, Mr Hays “my wife and kids have relocated to Portland and we are looking forward to becoming part of the community and enjoying the Portland lifestyle”.
