DP WORLD has opened a new refrigerated container facility in Sydney, called Reefer World.
The new reefer facility aims to provide a range of reefer cleaning and repair services to customers in Australia and New Zealand.
According to DP World, the reefer facility is the largest of its kind in Sydney and one of the biggest in Australia.
DP World highlighted the facility’s pre-trip wash, inspection and structural repairs services, which the company believes will ensure the quality and freshness of perishable cargo.
DP World Australia CEO Andrew Adam expects Reefer World to facilitate the efficient flow of perishable goods while addressing increased export demand in the region.
“Its completion further expands DP World’s footprint as one of the largest container terminals and logistics park operators in Australia and cements our position as the go-to partner for customers requiring innovative, agile, and scalable end-to-end logistics solutions.”
DP World said the opening of the new facility doubles its capacity to supply empty reefers. It said it b now has the ability to pre-trip and wash more than 100 reefer containers each day.
Reefer World is located next to DP World Sydney Terminal.
