CONTAINER throughput at the Port of Fremantle was at its highest since October 2019, according to the latest trade statistics available from Fremantle Ports.
Total throughput for July 2020 was reported to be 74,022 TEU, an 18% increase on June’s figures, largely thanks to an additional 8910 TEU of empties leaving the port. Throughput for the month was also up on July 2019’s throughput by 10%.

Exports once again accounted for the majority of throughput for July, with 38,661 TEU being exported; of that, 3% was coastal trade, the rest heading for overseas ports. Meanwhile a total of 35,361 TEU was imported; 14% being from coastal trade, the remaining being imported from overseas.
