MARINERS are warned that Port Hedland will carry out its annual hydrographic survey, starting on 7 March, expected to be complete on 20 March.
Harbour master East (Port Hedland), Behrouz Dael Zadeh, in a notice issued by Pilbara Ports said mariners should exercise caution when navigating in the vicinity of the surveying vessel.
The survey operations will extend from Lumsden Point to Beacons C1/C2, incorporating the inner harbour, the complete navigation channel, and the area used for channel entry at beacons 30/31.
The vessel Puriya will conduct the survey and will maintain a watch on VHF channel 12 and 16 displaying the appropriate lights and shapes as required by the COLREGS.
