A FOCUS on safety, environmental sustainability and efficiency is key to Patrick Terminals’ plan to invest more than $150m in upgrades this year, chief executive Michael Jovicic says.

The company has recently had new technology brought in from overseas with more on the way.

“Patrick Terminals continues to invest in infrastructure improvements at each of our terminal operations across Australia,” Mr Jovicic says.

“In 2020, we will spend more than $150m in capital infrastructure to upgrade each of our terminals.  This investment will deliver superior landside service, improved efficiencies, increased capacity and best in class customer service levels throughout our operations.

“The new infrastructure will also assist in ensuring we continue our focus on safety with modern equipment and systems for all our teams, whilst also delivering on environmental and safety outcomes by taking trucks off the roads.”

Recent infrastructure investments includes new quay cranes, straddles, Port Botany Rail Development, terminal operating system upgrades and Fremantle redevelopment.

The upgraded Terminal Operating System rollout began in Melbourne with a national roll-out to be complete by end of 2020.

Fremantle
