ANL is adding an additional vessel and three new port calls to its trans-Tasman service Tranztas (TTZ).
ANL announced it would deploy the containership Palawan on the service and add calls at Port Chalmers, Nelson and Napier.
Palawan will phase into the Tranztas service with ad hoc calls into Fremantle and Adelaide, prior to Sydney and Melbourne.
The current Tranztas rotation calls Sydney, Melbourne, Auckland, Tauranga and Lyttelton before returning to Sydney.
The new rotation is Sydney, Melbourne, Auckland, Port Chalmers, Lyttelton, Nelson, Napier, Tauranga then Sydney.
“The commencement of the new and improved service with the additional New Zealand ports will start from CMA CGM Semarang 2329/2330 in December on the Eastbound leg,” ANL said in a service update.
“The new Tranztas service will provide New Zealand exporters with faster transit time ex Tauranga to Australia, as well as a direct service from Nelson and Port Chalmers to Australia.
“Furthermore, it will also provide connections on other ANL services to Asia, US and Europe.”
Palawan (IMO 9937402) was built in 2023 and is sailing under the flag of Antigua and Barbuda. It is 172 metres long and has a carrying capacity of 1930 TEU, according to vessel traffic sites.
The four vessels on the Tranztas service are Palawan, CMA CGM Semarang, Keta and Mia Schulte.
