A CONSIGNMENT of Caterpillar dump trucks and trays recently arrived at Port of Mackay, the first multi-purpose vessel to call at the Queensland port for the new financial year.
The trucks and trays were shipped from Fremantle in the vessel Thorco Luna (IMO 9699957) and are being recommissioned for use in the coal producing Bowen Basin.
“We were delighted to assist International Global Logistics and National Heavy Haulage, part of the National Group, last week,” a spokesperson for North Queensland Bulk Ports said.
Mackay plays an important role as a port for the coal mining industry, providing for the import and export of heavy equipment.
The port is also notable for the export of grains and sugar.
