DP World is making a move into digital logistics, with the launch of Cargoes Logistics, a digital logistics system that it said provides instant online cargo booking and tracking from origin to destination.
The company said the first phase of the system is to be launched immediately from India to several destinations across the Middle East, the Indian Subcontinent, South East Asia, the far East and North Africa into India.
DP World said Cargoes Logistics provides customers with a single window system that enables seamless, safe, secure, and efficient movement of their cargo.
DP World CEO and managing director, Subcontinent, Rizwan Soomar said the new system would simplify the container shipping experience and provide visibility across all modes of transportation through “smart enablement” of internet-of-things-based systems.
“We will continue to invest in technology and work with our customers to drive innovation, continually add new products and features and provide solutions to meet their global logistics needs,” he said.
DP World chief technology officer Pradeep Desai said demand for digital systems has never been higher and will only keep growing.
“We are leveraging technology to create value for our customers and help drive growth. Cargoes Logistics by DP World is part of the broader Cargoes software suite of products. DP World created CARGOES to solve pressing challenges caused by supply chain related inefficiencies,” he said.
“It’s a holistic solution powered by technology targeting all aspects of global trade including finance, ERP, tracking, terminal operating system, customs software and enabling end-to-end logistics.”
