CONSTRUCTION company LOGOS has announce it is developing a 16,000sqm warehouse and office facility for Orrcon Steel at Marsden Park Logistics Estate in western Sydney.

Orrcon Steel, an Australian manufacturer and distributor of steel, tube and pipe products and a subsidiary of BlueScope, has committed to a long term lease.

The new commitment will see Orrcon Steel relocate its Sydney operations to Marsden Park, with the consolidated facility to accommodate the storage and distribution of various steel products through the use of overhead crane systems.

LOGOS head of Australia and New Zealand Darren Searle said Western Sydney was a strategic market for LOGOS and its tenants.

“Through our Marsden Park Logistics Estate we will deliver a total of 100,000sqm of prime logistics lettable space to this market to meet the growing demand from existing and new tenants for quality logistics space,” Mr Searle said.

“We are pleased to be welcoming Orrcon Steel and supporting their growth strategy with a new facility at Marsden Park.”

BlueScope senior procurement specialist Breelee Ferns said the new facility was an important investment for their business and marked “an exciting new era for Orrcon Steel, enabling improved operational efficiency and optimised delivery times to our customers”.

The lease agreement was negotiated by commercial real estate company CBRE and regional director Cameron Grier said Marsden Park as an industrial location was undergoing a transformation “which coupled with the lack of available zoned land in the outer west, is attracting high profile warehouse and distribution tenants, such as Orrcon Steel”.

“The Estate’s proximity to the M7 motorway and superior amenity were keys drivers in Orrcon Steel’s decision process to commit to this quality Estate,” Mr Grier said.

The LOGOS portfolio in Australia and New Zealand portfolio includes assets and developments across New South, Victoria, Western Australia, Queensland and Auckland.
