MEMBERS of the Electrical Trades Union employed by DPWA in Brisbane are set to walk off the job from 6am Friday.
This is part of protected industrial action, as the ETU seeks a new enterprise agreement for its members.
A spokesperson for DPWA said all terminal operations would cease from 0600 Friday 31 May for a 24-hour period.
“This action is not related to the recent PIA staged by the CFMMEU, which has now ceased at our terminals,” the spokesperson said in a prepared statement.
“As always, minimising disruption to customers is our priority.
“Our customer centre is working with the affected shipping lines and we will extend import availabilities and export receival periods for those vessel/s affected, where required.”
The ETU has been approached for comment.
