ALC Forum 2019 saw 300 people gather at the Melbourne Cricket Ground to hear prominent industry and political figures, discuss challenges and explore solutions.
In the lead up to the federal election, participants heard keynote addresses from Deputy Prime Minister Michael McCormack and Opposition infrastructure spokesman Anthony Albanese.
New Victorian ports and freight minister Melissa Horne also outlined the Victorian Government’s plans for ongoing freight efficiency.
According to the ALC, a “bipartisan commitment” towards the National Freight and Supply Chain Strategy was “especially welcome”.
ALC Forum 2019 saw the launch of a new video – Logistics. We Bring It – highlighting the central role of the supply chain in the lives of everyday Australians.
The program highlighted new areas of interest for freight and logistics, including electric vehicles, applying data and technology to secure greater supply chain efficiency and safety and a discussion on supply chain issues in Northern Australia, facilitated by Eva Lawler, Northern Territory infrastructure minister. The ALC is to use some of the priorities identified in the forum as the basis of advocacy in the lead-up to the federal election.
