AUSTRALIAN Border Force Commissioner Michael Outram recently attended the 28th meeting of Association of Southeast Asian Nations Directors-General of Customs, held in Laos.
Commissioner Outram also attended the third ASEAN-Australian Customs Consultation, which provides important links with Australia’s customs partners across Southeast Asia, with whom Australian shares “key values on trade modernisation, trade enforcement and joint operations”.
He also took the chance to meet with his counterparts from Singapore Customs, Royal Malaysian Customs Department, Indonesia’s Directorate General Customs and Excise, and the Myanmar Customs Department.
Commissioner Outram has covered many kilometres in the course of his job lately, having recently been a keynote speaker at the Australian Federation of International Forwarders’ conference in Melbourne.
