SOFTWARE company WiseTech Global has acquired Shipamax, a data-entry automation software business.
Shipamax uses and AI and machine learning to convert unstructured data – such as PDFs and scans from emails – into machine-readable formats.
The plan is to embed the Shipamax platform into the document engine of WiseTech Global’s flagship product CargoWise.
WiseTech Global founder and CEO Richard White said data integrity is paramount for logistics businesses.
“Through our CargoWise platform, we have created integrated processes to ensure data is entered only once, reducing risk of incorrect re-keyed data, time and resource effort, and costs associated with data exchange,” Mr White said.
“With Shipamax, this capability extends the CargoWise ecosystem by automating the ingestion of inbound documents into operational data in CargoWise.”
Mr White said acquisition of the platform would help drive digital workflows, which are important as the industry works to become paper-free.
“We have a clear vision to be the operating system for global logistics, and we are delighted to have the Shipamax team join us to help enable this important goal.”
And Shipamax CEO Jenna Brown said Shipamax aims to help businesses reduce data-entry costs.

Shipamax is based in the United Kingdom. It was founded in 2016.
