UNSEENLABS this week launched its eighth satellite dedicated to the location of vessels at sea from space.
Unseenlabs is a company that specialises in detecting radio frequency signal emitters – particularly in the maritime domain – around the world.
The satellite, called BRO-8, was launched as part of SpaceX’s Transporter-6 mission from Cape Canaveral, Florida.
The Unseenlabs constellation aims to provide customers with reliable and frequent radio frequency data for rapid detection and monitoring of activities at sea. The company said its services are ideally suited for applications such as national security, insurance and marine area protection.
Unseenlabs CEO and co-founder Clément Galic said the new satellites add essential capabilities to its constellation.
“It means more solutions and deeper analysis for our customers,” he said.
“If you need to know what is happening in your areas of interest, Unseenlabs provides you with an efficient solution for an exhaustive view of maritime traffic through maritime surveillance.”
The company said it aims to expand its team at its headquarters in Rennes, France. It also aims to increase its constellation to comprise 20 to 25 independent satellites, dedicated to the location of vessels at sea from space.
