EVERGREEN MARINE Corporation has recorded a doubling and tripling of some key metrics in the first half and second quarter of 2024.

The Taiwanese carrier boasted 1H (to 30 June) sales of TWD 194,967.27 million (USD 6.0 billion), up 45% compared to TWD 134,211.27 million a year ago. Net income for 1H 2024 was TWD 46,841.13 million compared to TWD 10,134.96 million in 1H 2023, a near tripling.

Basic earnings per share from continuing operations in 1H 2024 was TWD 21.86 compared to TWD 4.79 in the prior year, while diluted earnings per share from continuing operations was TWD 21.72 compared to TWD 4.69 a year ago.

For the second quarter, the company reported sales of TWD 106,328.61 million this year compared to TWD 67,384.62 million in 2Q 2023. Net income was TWD 29,458.88 million compared to TWD 5,092.25 million a year ago.

Basic earnings per share from continuing operations in 2Q 2024was TWD 13.7 compared to TWD 2.41 a year ago. Diluted earnings per share from continuing operations was TWD 13.61 compared to TWD 2.36 last year.

Details of carryings for 1H 2024 were not released.

The EMC board of directors also announced the company intends to purchase up to 100,000 TEU of new containers: “The price and the counterparty will be announced in accordance with the provisions after the contract is signed,” the company said.
