SWIRE Projects has received ISO certifications in quality management, environmental management and occupational safety management.
The projects and heavy lift shipping division of Swire Shipping attained ISO 9001:2015, ISO 14001:2015 and ISO 45001:2018 on 14 March.
Swire Projects general manager Namir Khanbabi said the business created a new integrated management system last year to ensure it had best-practice systems in place.
He said those systems would enable Swire Projects to manage its performance in areas of quality, risk, safety and sustainability.
“This and the combined efforts of the team ensure that we are aligned in our goals and objectives, gaps in our work processes are addressed and continual improvement plans are in place,” Mr Khanbabi said.
“This sets us up to be able to provide our customers with consistent, good-quality products and services that meet regulatory requirements, while also having established environmental processes that we can implement, monitor, and measure.
“Safety is our guiding principle, and our aim is to ensure zero harm at sea and in our offices.
“In implementing ISO 45001:2018 Occupational Health Safety Management, we are taking a proactive approach to having the policies and systems in place for hazard identification and risk assessment, with the aim of ensuring improved organisational health and safety.”
Mr Khanbabi said the ISO certifications and annual audits are a necessary investment to ensure the business performs at a high level.
