KALGIN Global Logistics is opening a new office in Port Moresby in Papua New Guinea.
Kalgin has been operating for more than 35 years and offers ocean and air forwarding and consolidation services. Its area of focus includes Australia, Fiji, Papua New Guinea, the Pacific Islands and Asia.
The opening of the Port Moresby office is a milestone in the company’s 2026 strategic plan. The company aims to build on its regional network, including offices in Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, Auckland, Suva, and Lautoka.
The new entity, Kalgin Global Logistics (PNG), is set to open for business on 1 November.
The company’s PNG office is located at the ANZ Corporate Centre in Hohola.
Scott Emerson is to take on the role of branch manager of Kalgin’s operations in the country.
Also, Ian Maughan will oversee the setup and rollout of the new office and Kalgin’s suite of services under a single brand.
Kalgin managing director Richard Lamport said there is a need for a logistics service provider capable of managing door-to-door cargo movements with multi-carrier solutions in PNG.
“Our aim is to offer PNG importers unprecedented transparency around cargo movements, right from the moment shipments are collected from suppliers,” He said.
“With our cutting-edge KaLogix digital tracking platform, a first in the PNG market, we believe we can deliver on that promise.
“Furthermore, as the Kalgin group charts its growth trajectory, both geographically and through potential acquisitions, we’re actively seeking acquisition opportunities in the Australia, NZ, and Pacific Island markets,” Mr Lamport said.
