DP WORLD Australia’s Brisbane terminal has seen closures and delays over the past two days due to IT problems and bad weather.

A spokesperson for DP World Australia confirmed to DCN that the company’s operations in Brisbane had been impacted over the past 48 hours due to adverse weather conditions and a system disruption.

“We are working to ensure efficient operations resume as quickly as possible,” the spokesperson said.

DCN understands that as of Tuesday afternoon (16 May), the terminal has resumed operations after a period of closure.

In a message to customers earlier in the day, DPWA said the Brisbane terminal was “experiencing an IT outage. All entry and out gate kiosks, and all machines are offline. … Please avoid sending trucks to the terminal”.

On Monday, the Container Transport Alliance Australia in a statement said automated stacking crane failures and “maintenance issues” at the terminal had caused “significant” landside transport delays and added costs.

“This episode however has left many transport operators fearing that the increased market share now earmarked to flow through the Terminal, together with possible future equipment vulnerabilities, will mean a decrease in reliability and productivity levels at the landside interface,” CTAA said.
