OOCL had a very good fourth quarter of 2020, as well as a fairly strong 12 months to 31 December.
During Q4 2020, OOCL’s total volumes were up 23.7% on the same period in 2019, with total revenues increasing by 51.2% to US$2.4 billion over the same period.
Also, loadable capacity increased by 17.5% over the quarter and the overall load factor was 4.6% higher than the same period the previous year. And overall average revenue per TEU increased by 22.2%.
Revenues for the intra-Asia/Australasia operations increased over the quarter by 55% to US$795 million, while volumes for the area increased by 23.5% to 1 million TEU.
Revenues for the intra-Asia/Australasia operations over the entire 2020 year increased by 20.2% to US$2.3 billion, while volumes only increased by 5.5% to 3.3 million TEU.
Zooming out and looking at 2020 as a whole, OOCL’s total volumes increased by 7.3% over 2019, and total revenues grew by 18.9%. Overall average revenue per TEU increased by 10.8% over the period.
