ORIENT Overseas Container Line this week received its fourth new 24,188-TEU containership.
OOCL Felixstowe was officially named at a ceremony on 8 August at the Dalian COSCO KHI Ship Engineering Company shipyard.
At the ceremony, OOCL CEO Yang Zhijian, said: “We ordered this series of ultra-large container vessels not only to provide better services to our customers, but also to enhance our cost competitiveness and to seize the initiative for future development”.
OOCL said OOCL Felixstowe is the fourth in a series of 12 “eco-friendly” 24,188 TEU vessels. The new ship will serve the Asia-Europe LL3 service with its three sister vessels.
The ship’s port rotation is: Shanghai – Xiamen – Nansha – Hong Kong – Yantian – Cai Mep – Singapore – Piraeus – Hamburg – Rotterdam – Zeebrugge – Valencia – Piraeus – Abu Dhabi – Singapore – Shanghai
OOCL is a part of the COSCO Group and is listed on the Hong Kong Stock Exchange.
