THE AUSTRALIAN Trucking Association has appointed Mathew Munro as its new CEO.
Mr Munro is currently the executive director of the Australian Livestock and Rural Transporters Association (ALTRA). Prior to that, he was policy director at the National Road Transport Association.
He is replacing ATA chief executive Michael Deegan, who is retiring.
The National Heavy Vehicle Register welcomed Mr Munro’s appointment.
NHVR CEO Sal Petroccitto commended the incoming leader’s work with ALTRA.
“Together with the NHVR Board and staff, we look forward to continuing our proactive working partnership with Mr Munro, ATA Chair David Smith and ATA staff in driving safety and productivity outcomes for the heavy vehicle supply chain across the country,” Mr Petroccitto said.
“I wish outgoing ATA CEO Michael Deegan all the best in retirement and thank him for his extensive contribution to the heavy vehicle industry.
“I would like to thank Mr Deegan for his dedication and commitment to driving positive and practical outcomes for the heavy vehicle industry and for the collaboration and partnership he maintained with the NHVR.”
