THE MARITIME Union of Australia has on Monday (4 December) given notification of further industrial action through 18 December.
The industrial action affects all four of DP World’s terminals in Australia at Brisbane, Fremantle, Melbourne and Sydney.
The union began industrial action in early October after negotiations for a new enterprise bargaining agreement collapsed.
DCN Understands the two parties are in negotiations this week at the Fair Work Commission.
A spokesperson for DP World said the company hopes to achieve an agreement with the union.
The MUA declined to comment, but a spokesperson said the union would have a statement or an updated when the talks conclude later this week.
The protected industrial action announced on Monday is much the same as the previous notifications.
There are bans on working vessels operated by certain shipping lines, three two-hour work bans per day (except at Sydney, where the bans are one hour long), bans on working a vessel for eight hours after it is alongside, amongst others.
