OCEAN Network Express has taken delivery of ONE Innovation at Kure Shipyard of Japan Marine United Corporation.
The vessel has a capacity of up to 24,136 TEU and is ONE’s first ship of six similarly sized vessels to join its core fleet.
The company said ONE Innovation’s hull design would help maximise cargo intake and minimise fuel consumption.
The ship is also fitted with a bow windshield and an exhaust gas cleaning system to meet IMO emissions regulations.
It will be deployed on the Asia to Europe (FE3) service, under THE Alliance.
ONE managing director Yu Kurimoto said the vessel would help pave the way for the sustainable development of global logistics.
“Last year, we announced our Green Vision, which aims to achieve net-zero by 2050,” he said.
“We are actively working to reduce greenhouse gas emissions from our fleet, and we are confident that this vessel will contribute to this effort and bring innovation to global logistics.”
The vessel is 399.9 metres long, with a beam of 61.4 metres.
