BAL CONTAINER Line has launched a new liner service from China to Australia.
The first vessel – ALS Ceres, a Marshall Islands-flagged 4395-TEU containership – called Brisbane on 16 November, Sydney on 19 November and it is scheduled to berth at VICT on 25 November.
The new service calls Qingdao, Ningbo, Xiamen, Yantian, Brisbane, Sydney and Melbourne.
The company is to initially deploy three containerships on the route, all of around 5000 TEU.
According to Alphaliner, BAL Container Line operates nine ships with a total cargo capacity of 33,487 TEU. It owns one 1618-TEU vessel, with the remaining eight chartered.
