AUSTRALIAN shipping container supplier SCF has acquired CSL Containers.
CSL Containers has existed in New Zealand for more than 30 years and is currently managed by Roger McCallum.
SCF said the purchase would allow the Australian business to build on the existing product offering of CSL Containers, introducing new types of equipment for lease and sale.
SCF CEO Justin Speedy welcomed CSL Containers to the SCF Containers group.
He said he looks forward to supporting and strengthening the brand’s business in the New Zealand community.
“The CSL Containers acquisition represents a significant milestone for SCF,” Mr Speedy said.
“We will build on the existing product offering of CSL Containers but also significantly expand that product range including tanks and intermodal equipment.
“We really look forward to reinforcing the CSL presence in the New Zealand market with a team that has a longstanding and impressive legacy amongst suppliers and customers.
“We see many opportunities for the businesses, and will work closely with the CSL team, as they continue to provide great products and services to customers from multiple depots providing national coverage across New Zealand.”
Roger McCallum, the former owner of CSL Containers, said CSL had established a strong business over the past three decades.
“The acquisition by SCF benefits our customers by providing the same high quality customer service standards, whilst increasing access to a wider range of products and services,” he said.
SCF will retain the existing CSL team, which will be overseen by Audrey Galbraith in the newly created role of New Zealand country manager.
SCF said Ms Galbraith brings over 20 years-experience in the container industry following a highly successful career with Royal Wolf in senior management roles within the operations, customer service and fleet management functions.
SCF plans to connect to existing sponsorships and local initiatives and look at new opportunities for community engagement.
