FULL container throughput at Port Adelaide in January saw very little change compared with the same month last year, according to the latest trade statistics from Flinders Ports.
Adelaide’s total full container throughput in January 2023 amounted to 21,063 TEU, just 36 TEU more than its full container throughput in January last year.
Last month, Adelaide’s full exports came to 9403 TEU, slightly down on full exports in January 2022 (10,658 TEU).
And full imports through the port last month came to 11,660 TEU a slight increase on last year (10,369 TEU).
And last month the port handled a total of 7164 TEU of empty containers, up from 6467 TEU the same month last year. Over both months import volumes of empties was roughly half that of exports. In January 2023, there was 4380 TEU of exported empties and 2784 TEU of imported empties.
In January last year, there were 18 cellular containership visits to Adelaide – this increased to 26 containership visits last month.
